Beginning his career as a Financial Services professional in 1980, Jim worked to develop, and assist clients implement, personal investment and financial planning solutions geared toward building wealth and achieving their financial goals.  He specializes in retirement planning and wealth preservation strategies for a broad array of individuals, families, and business owners.  He adheres to the fiduciary standard in all client relationships and is a strong proponent of full disclosure.

Jim graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science degree.  After serving in the U.S. Navy for four years, he taught high school math and science  –  demonstrating a bent toward education that continues to this day.  After moving to Ohio, he made his career change to Financial Services with EF Hutton.  While there, he became assistant branch manager and was awarded the Certified Portfolio Management certificate from the prestigious Schilffarth Investment Institute.  Jim was awarded his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1984 and his Master of Financial Planning degree from the College for Financial Planning in 1999.  His experience as an educator and passion for financial literacy led him to become an adjunct professor in the Financial Services Department at Wright State University.  Jim has achieved the Series 7, 9, 10, 24, and 63 securities registrations and holds an insurance license for Life, Disability, and Long-Term Care. Since 2001, he has managed a tax preparation service for clients.

Throughout his career, Jim has served both his profession and the Dayton community in numerous capacities.  He was a board member and treasurer of the Dayton Rotary Foundation, as well as serving on several committees in the Dayton Rotary.  Jim was also a board member and treasurer of the Dayton chapter of the Financial Planning Association.  He was on a committee for the Dayton Red Cross and has been on the steering committee for Caring Cetera since its inception.  He served as an arbitrator for the National Futures Association and is a member of the Financial Services Institute.

Jim, his wife Cheryl, and their dog Spirit live in Clayton, OH.  Jim and Cheryl are active in their church and support various ministries and missionaries both here and abroad.  Jim enjoys golf, bowling, and skiing (both kinds).  They greatly enjoy traveling but their favorite thing is to sit on the shore of a lake watching the sunset.  Sublime!  Oh, and they kind of like the Buckeyes!
