Paul Ewing and Angela Brill Deliver Financial Advice on Capitol HillSubmitted by Prosperity Advisory Group on April 26th, 2019
On April 10 and 11, Paul Ewing and Angela Brill were among a select group of advisors who provided financial planning advice and education to congressional staff on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. Paul and Angela are advisory council members for the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI), and participated in their initiative for National Retirement Planning Week. National Retirement Planning Week® 2019 is a national effort to help consumers focus on their financial needs in retirement. Ten advisors met with 130 Congressional staffers in the two day event, achieving a new record for IRI.
“We love doing planning on the Hill. We are consistently impressed with the quality of our Congressional staff – they are smart, ambitious and committed to serving our country. It is our great pleasure to help them achieve their personal financial goals, and to help reinforce the importance of financial planning as they take part in shaping national policy. We really look forward to this annual opportunity,” said Paul and Angela.
Prosperity has been participating in financial education in our own community as well. On April 4th and 5th, we participated again in the Future Now: Finance event at Shawnee Mission West High School. The Future Now: Finance event is an exercise that helps students understand the realities involved in preparing for adulthood and financial success. Brent Evans, Cole Christopherson and Angela Brill enjoyed volunteering their time to help with the event. The results from the event were impressive, and the student survey results (below) showed that the event had a huge impact.
Survey Statement - Percentage "Quite a Bit / A Lot"
- I’m more likely to try harder in school - 72%
- I’m more likely to get more education after high school - 80%
- I’m more likely to delay having children - 53%
- I’m more likely to make wise financial decisions - 85%
- I’m more likely to save more of my money - 81%

The Future Now: Finance event happens annually at local schools and we would love to have you volunteer with us next year. You don’t need to be a financial expert – you just need to share a love for helping young people understand the basics income, expenses and preparing for the unexpected.
